This is an exclusive experience for twelve positive, proactive successful women who want to make a difference in the world. If you resonate with what I've shared I'd LOVE you to apply.
Why is there an application process?
I want to curate a diverse team of incredible women and this means making sure everyone is a good fit – for one another and the project.
I'd also like to check you understand, and are happy with, the scope and limitations of the project.
The trip has been postponed due to Covid. The current dates we're planning towards are 13th to 23rd June 2022.
25% deposits are payable upon signing up to secure your place.
The remaining balance will be due in February 2022.
Please note these prices INCLUDE A LOT but EXCLUDE international flights. See below for further details.
As a member of the core team, you pledge to raise/donate at least £2,000 (US$2,800) by 1st December 2021, with 50% of this raised by 30th June 2021.
Only those who are part of our core team and raise this amount will be eligible to join our trip. By signing up you are committing to raising the above amount. If you don't achieve this by 1st December 2021, you will forfeit your deposit and place on the trip.
You are responsible for ensuring you arrive at our hotel in Bali in plenty of time to join us for the first day of the trip.
It takes up to 24 hours to travel from the UK, Europe, or US to Bali so please consider the days you need to travel before joining us. Bali is served by an international airport that is well connected to large cities across Asia. If you're in the UK our travel agent can help you arrange international flights and a transfer to the hotel (approximately 1-hour from the airport). We have contacts in other countries who could also help.
We'll be travelling as a group to Lombok to visit the school. This is included in the price of your trip.
How do I sign up?
You will receive details of our full cancellation policy when you sign up. In summary:
If we receive your written cancellation between your time of booking and 120 days before the first day we are due to meet in Bali, this will result in a total loss of your deposit.
If we receive your written cancellation between 46-119 days before the first day we are due to meet in Bali, this will result in a loss of 50% of the price of this experience.
If we receive your written cancellation between 1-45 days of the first day we are due to meet in Bali, this will result in a total loss of funds paid.
All cancellation requests must be received by email ([email protected]).
Your travel insurance
Cancellation due to COVID: In addition to usual travel insurance, we recommend you take out insurance that covers the trip being cancelled due to a government ban on travel to Bali, the Indonesian Government shutting international borders, you needing to self-isolate or testing positive, and therefore being unable to travel.
If you're in the UK, to minimise any risk, we also recommend booking your international flights with our travel agent to create a package that gives additional ABTA protection (UK clients). If you're outside the UK, speak to a travel agent in your country to find out whether they can do the same.
What happens to donations if the trip is cancelled?
If the trip is cancelled at any time (by either party, the funds you’ve already raised through your fundraising page will still go towards building a school in Lombok.
Our insurance company also requires that you sign and return certain forms to us prior to your departure. These include a Statement of Psychological and Health Conditions, Release of Liability and Assumption of all Risks, and Responsibility/Limitation of Liability form.
The following are all included to make this a fun, enjoyable, and hassle-free trip for you:
The price of your trip depends on when you book, whether you'd like to join us for 5 or 10 nights and your room preference–twin or solo occupancy.
Prices range from £2,050 to £3,500. See more above.
There are early bird discounts available for team members who sign up before 31st August 2020.
Due to Covid, and uncertainties around travel, I'm not currently taking any deposits for the experience.
Instead I ask you to donate £150 towards your fundraising target when you sign up.
Deposits will be due once we confirm the final dates for the trip. This is likely to be in January 2021.
I want to make sure that being part of this project is right for you, me and the rest of the team.
This includes making sure you are happy with the scope and limitations of the project.
Positive, proactive successful women from all cultural backgrounds, who want to make a difference in the world.
Women who have lived an interesting life (typically over 40).
Women who are interested in having more impact in the world, want to connect to a deeper sense of purpose or to take time out to do something meaningful.
Women who enjoy travelling, experiencing new places and cultures, and meeting other fascinating women, from all cultures.
Women who value peace, love, kindness, diversity, community inclusiveness and minimising our environmental footprint.
What you 'do' is not important although most women on the trip are likely to be womenpreneurs, business owners, leaders, founders, volunteers, consultants, professionals, career changers, thought leaders, authors, artists, well-being specialists, film-makers, non-exec directors, investors, or women who have sold their business, lived overseas or retired early.
No. It is illegal to volunteer in Indonesia as this is seen to be taking jobs from the locals.
Even it if were legal, many well intended Westerners volunteering overseas actually do more long-term damage than good. I'll be explaining more as part of the Global Citizen training that will be delivered to all team members.
Thanks but I don't need any volunteers.
I've already got a list of friends and business associates I've known for years who will be assisting as needed.
No. As we're likely to be travelling from different places, our trip will start in Kuta, Lombok.
However as you'll be getting to know other team members over the month's you're all fundraising, you may well decide to travel out with other team members.
You can fly to Lombok's international airport and get an airport shuttle or transfer to the hotel. You are responsible for travelling to the hotel in time for the start of our trip. Our travel agent can help you book the best flights and arrange your hotel transfer.
No. This is a woman-only trip, specifically for successful womenpreneurs, leaders and change-makers who want to have more impact in the world. That said, you could spend time with your family before our after our trip.
The trip is an exclusive experience for those who raise/donate at least £2,000 for the school.
How you source the money is up to you. You could fundraise or make a donation (personally or through your business).
No. There are only 12 spaces available on the trip. These will be allocated to the first 12 women who apply and are accepted onto the team.
You will forfeit your place on the trip and any funds you've paid towards this.
Any funds you've raised/donated through your fundraising page will still go towards the school.
Our cancelation policy
We intend to confirm the school build and final trip dates by the end of December 2020. No deposit is payable until after this date, other than a £150 donation to secure your place on the team. Your 25% deposit is payable in January 2021.
With this in mind we advise that you hold off booking international travel until you’ve received this final confirmation from us.
If we receive your written cancellation between the confirmation date above and 120 days before the first day we are due to meet in Lombok, this will result in a total loss of your deposit.
If we receive your written cancellation between 46-89 days before the first day we are due to meet in Lombok, this will result in a loss of 50% of the price of this experience.
If we receive your written cancellation between 1-45 days of the first day we are due to meet in Lombok, this will result in a total loss of funds paid.
If the trip element of this experience is cancelled at any time (by either party), the funds you’ve already raised through your fundraising page will still go towards building a school in Lombok.
We reserve the right to cancel the trip if we don’t meet the minimum we require to make the school build viable within our proposed timeframe. In this situation we’ll ask you to confirm whether you’d be happy with a revised date for our trip or whether you’d prefer your deposit be refunded.
Please ensure you have valid travel insurance in place to cover you for all aspects of our trip including trip cancellation. You are advised to book flights with reputable airlines/travel agents.
All cancellation requests must be received by email ([email protected]).
Our insurance company also requires that you sign and return certain forms to us prior to your departure. These include a Statement of Psychological and Health Conditions, Release of Liability and Assumption of all Risks and Responsibility/Limitation of Liability form. You will be sent copies of these when your balance payment is due.
Yes of course you can, we'd be delighted to have your support!
Anyone who pledges to raise £2,000+ will be set up with their own fundraising page you can use to gather, process and track donations.
If you don't want to commit to raising this much, you're welcome to process donations through our team fundraising page.
Please do however get in touch so we know what you're doing and can keep you updated with info about the school.
